Triumph Italia - Nr.157

Italia Nr.157

Vignale Nr.157

The Heritage Certificate for Italia Nr.157 confirms a rolling chassis left the UK to be completed by Vignale Coachworks in Turin and, once completed, it was despatched on 4th May 1960 to Cesac Spa c/o Zust Ambrosetti Italy and delivered to its first Italian owner. A good quality restoration was reported to have been completed in 1996.

In 2004 the car found its way to Germany where it was again subjected to another restoration to a very high standard, possibly by Peter Schaaf. From then the car, part of a small collection located in Mayen, Germany was regularly maintained and driven a limited number of kilometres.

In February 2018, Italia Nr.157 was offered for private sale by Leo Ranner, who was representing the owner. Offering price €85,000. Eventually the car was acquired by Anthony Hamilton and imported to the UK.

After a couple of years ownership by Anthony Hamilton, the vehicle was offered for auction by Silverstone Classic Auctions in January 2020 and subsequently surfaced in Sydney, Australia, where it underwent recommissioning at David Clark Automotive in Rydalmere (Sydney).
